Getting webpage not available error

Today while I was browsing on my windows 8.1 laptop, I installed a software by mistake which was an adware.I found the software location and deleted it but since after that I am getting "webpage not available error" in every browser I have.I even reinstalled chrome(the chrome setup was able to download data) but it didnt help.but skype, iTunes all of them work as it used to.I don't use proxy please do help me
