Hi guys, just wondering if it is possible to get internet to my desktop without a wifi adapter through PCI slot.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge, just getting into pc building and this will be my first build.

Also, I don't have a modem or router near by, prefer to not use my laptop either.

If you want WiFi access for a desktop PC, you have four options:
1- built-in WiFi on the motherboard if you bought a motherboard with that feature
2- add-in PCIe card
3- USB WiFi adapter
4- a WiFi access point connected to the PC's LAN port wirelessly bridged to your WiFi router/modem

I know, I was just wondering if it was possible to do that.
I don't mind the PCI slot card, but do you think that that is a good card???
If not, I'm trying to stay on the cheaper side with the wifi cards.
