So we know that nVidia's got the 106 and 108 chipsets in the pipeline. I also believe that the 106 will be used in bringing in fermi in the $150 range, at least from what the internet shows in some articles!

So what about the 108?

It looks like nVidia's got some serious plans for giving ATI a run for the 'money'! The question is what can we expect from the two chipsets?

Those aren't chipsets. They are the code names for the graphics core.
Regarding performance and price, the GF106 based GTS 450 is supposed to compete with the 5770, while the unknown GF108 based card will supposedly compete with the 5670.

Well, Asus has decided that one GTX 480 wasn't a power hungry enough single card, so they are developing the Asus Mars II GTX 480 SLI. nVidia is apparently planning to make a GTX 470 X2 card, or GTX 475 X2 card if the GTX 475 is based on a full GF104 core, with all 384 cores active.

There are lots of rumours doing the rounds, the one I favour is that there will be a 455 chip which will basically be a slightly crippled 460 which will result in a TDP that will allow them to get two on a PCB with reasonable power requirements. Given what 460's in SLI are capable of doing a card based on two slightly lower spec chips should be quite interesting.
