a 9200 (non-SE)would probably beat a GF3 Ti200 by a small margin...

but a 9200SE will get it's arse handed to it by any GF3.

In my opinion I would expect your paticular Geforce3 card to compare with at the least a Radeon 9600 non-pro. In fact Im betting my Geforce2 GTS/Pro is as good as the 9200. My Geforce2 is playing the latest 3d-intensive games quite admirably in my opinion.

I should add that I'm not referring to the SE versions of the Radeon cards either.
Edited by Vimp on 01/01/04 04:04 AM.

I disagree, my 9000pro performed tons better in ut2k3, halo, and maxpayne 2 then my friends geforce 2 gts.

R9200 (non-SE, 250/200) is slower than GeForce3 Ti200

i would venture a guess at the Gforce card, but im sure there will be a few times where the 9200 will be better too...

i tihnk that this might depend more on the games played

How does it feel to have a 128 bit 9500? It feels nice I guess.

Not as nice as a modded 256 bit card would, of course... :wink:

But it's a damn fine card nevertheless. I'm happy with it for now.

The GF3ti200 usually outperforms the crippled R9200SE, but the regular R9200 will outperform it.

Check this Digit-Life review (whihc GW posted first);
http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/over2003/index.html

The GF3ti200 is nowhere near the R9600, and I doubt the GF3 or GF3ti500 would be better enough to do that either.

I would suggest a GF4ti or an R9600SE at the very least, but if your finances keep you with these two choices listed above then the GF3ti200 seems like the better choice. IF you can get a regular R9200 or 9100 that would likely give you some closer results (often beating the GF3ti200).

Anwyhoo, that's just my 2 frames' worth.

Actually wusy. If game developers stopped making their games look good even on old directx7 video cards like mine then I'd be forced to upgrade my videocard for that reason alone. Instead though, they make their games look good even if you dont have the latest directx video cards so I have no reason to upgrade. Well except for better performance.
