GF4TI ONLY HVE 1 TMU when using AF?

i just learned from a relaible source on nvnew.net that when enabling AnsioFiltering on GF4 TI cards, they LOSE A TMU unit on each pipeline........

<b> so that means in 70% of the cases give or take </b> GF4 TI cards have only 4x1 pipelines for drawing pixels...

so THATS why my 8500le worked noticably better in BF1942 with 16xAF even , and why in benchmarks theres no loss for the GF4 cause all benchmarks are run with no AF or AA unless specified......

personally i use AF in all my games......... modern cards should be capable of 2x AF at least which looks nice

Oh men, i'm just going to buy a new gf4ti4400. I hope this is not true, because i also prefer using Anisofiltering when playing games.

I always have my 9700pro @ 4X anti and 8X ani in all games without a second thought. Im stuck @ 1024x768 'coz of my dell 17" monitor.

It goes upto 1600x1200 but not at a good refresh. I like 85hz minimum.

dude im telling you no word of a lie, in BF1942 with AF, my 8500le @240/240 was faster. 16x AF at 60fps average..



ive had 3 weeks to mess iwth this GF4TI, and i tell you its not gettin any faster. yes, im only running a 1900+ AXP.. but i expect a next generation card to perform better in areas like AF and AA.

I think everyone is already in the know about the Geforce4 Ti's poor anistropic performance Phial. That's why you're not getting the response you want.

Regardless of the reason, it doesn't change the Geforce4 Ti's crappy anistropic performance.

I just don't think it surprises anyone.

who plays that without AF? NO ONE . because it allows you to see objects and terrain further away with more clarity (and therefore more ability to sniper)


this is amazing. i didnt know about the extent of how much this card really sucked because people praised it.
