Ghost drive showing on PC

I have windows 10 running on my laptop, This laptop (Dell Inspiron 1545) has a internal SD reader. I used it for the first time today after reinstalling windows. However now when I remove the SD an entry in my computer (This PC) called 'USB Drive (D' stays. I have seen this with empty CD drives showing up but never SD slots. However I have never found a fix. Does anyone know how to fix this.

I do have 'Hide Empty Drives' enables before anyone asks.

I had a similar problem on a Win7 machine. When I double clicked on it as if to open it, it went away. Not sure that will work on WinX.
