Dell precision 7720. The mouse curser will randomly move when pressure / activity is made around the touchpad even if not touching it. This has caused my mouse to randomly dart to the corner of the screen by using the keyboard or having my palm near the touchpad. The temporary solution is to bang on the keyboard randomly.

Ive installed dell touchpad software to disable the touch pad it so no longer works, but the problem remains. The touchpad still displays activity as when i touch it the keyboard lights up showing its not completely disabled. Ive also tried cleaning the touchpad even tho its spotless.

There are 2 cables that appear to be connected to the touchpad View: https://i.imgur.com/qJ0nShy.png

Ive disconnected cable A which does nothing. Cable B if removed disables the keyboard.

How can I 100% disable the touchpad? Is there a cable I can disconnect?

If the laptop's outside of it's warranty period, you could replace the trackpad on the laptop;

Have you tried disabling the trackpad in Device Manager assuming you're on Windows OS? Is your laptop pending any BIOS and/or chipset updates?

^ Beating a device doesn't exactly make it sort itself out. Unless you want to damage the plastic shell of the laptop and bring up worse predicaments to light, like a laptop that refuses to boot since a power delivery component was knocked off.

If the laptop is yet within warranty period, I'd advise on informing Dell of the issue and seeing if a replacement can be issued since it's not normal behavior for a trackpad to do it's own thing.
