Giga Z68 undervolt 3470 system lockup

I can't undervolt my i5 3470. Its on stock 1.188. NOt even by 0.01V. If i try, windows locks up, and once i power off, bios locks up too. Then, have to do bios reset. I tried doing 0.05, then 0.02V, none worked.

I could undervolt my sandy bridge i5 2400 by 0.15V so why not this?
I'd like to undervolt a little because in this heat, on a stress load the cores get up to 80°C

The offset mentioned in the bios setting, whenever it's a negative number, system freezes, when 0 or +0.01 works fine.

I'm using AMD GPU btw.

I don't have a clue what he means by voltage leveling to preset 5 I had to set the voltage to normal, set the offset to 0, set the voltage leveling to preset 5

First of all you could do undervolt of your old processor because it would have been to accept the voltages for the undervolt/overvolt however not every CPU is same hence the settings of undervolt that worked before may not work with the new processor.

Secondly there can be a problem with the video card also sometimes it has been reported that nvidia causes system display to freeze during undervolt remove your graphic card and try undervolting again?

There's a couple of problems with this board, and with gigabyte z68 boards. I skimmed through about 1200 pages in tweaktown's bios forum page. I bought the exact same board for my friend, and the board got into a boot loop, when using integrated graphics. (had to remove battery, and power for about 12 hours until we could power it up again, works fine since then) My mobo got into a bootloop also after reseting bios yesterday. No despair, i had to kick in dual bios, to reset corrupted bios. I simply think this bios is badly written, as on the official page, the last bios on website is a beta, and the last nonbeta bios was FD, which supports IVy bridge just the same but doesn't support ANY multiplier.
