so i have a tp-link archer c2 gigabit router...on their site it says that all ports are gigabit and stuff....

i have 300mbit connection from isp and if i have only my computer connected with a cable i get 297mbit download on speedtest.net even if i am connected with multiple wireless devices to it.

but...when i plugged in my raspberry pi2 into it i can't get over 100mbits....

but if i unplug it and use a wireless usb dongle and connect to it it gets back to 300...

any ideas?

Your Raspberry PI 2 only has a 100Mb ethernet port according to the spec sheet -- https://www.adafruit.com/pdfs/raspberrypi2modelb.pdf

A switch shouldn't care if there 100 and 1000Mbit devices plugged in. But your router (if I read your post correctly) seems to be setting all the ethernet ports to 100Mbit if any 100Mbit devices are connected. If that is the case, I would recommend adding a new gigabit switch to the router. Connect the Raspberry to the new switch rather than the router.

i realise what is happening...i know that the rpi has only 100mbit but it does not make sense...why would the router set the ports to 100...why bottleneck the whole network because there is a 100mbps device?

I don't know. Bug in the firmware? Bug in the hardware? There is no VALID reason.
