I recently got this card second-hand: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125490

My system is:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE
ASUS M5A97 Mobo
8GB RAM
Antec EA-650W Green PSU

This card just replaced an HD5870. After installing and hooking up to my monitor, and turning on, I get no signal and no BEEP. I've tried with an HDMI cord as well, nothing. Not sure what's going on. The GPU does have a little switch on it which I've tried flicking back and forth with no positive results. Dunno what it could be or if the card's dead. The seller said it was used for two months before being sold.

I hope that you didn't get one of those Bitcoin farm cards as those are usually bricks once back on the market. Ask for your money back and get something else that wasn't heavily used as for the rest of your system if it ran the 5870 without issue there is no reason why this 280x shouldn't run.

Luckily, the Gigabyte's warranty transfers with Serial Number and I have a warranty until January 2017.
I managed to solve the issue; all I needed to do was flash the latest BIOS for my motherboard (M5A97). I had tried clearing the CMOS beforehand, but googling around, I got the idea to flash the BIOS. Thankfully, everything's well now.
