Gigabyte 6600gt bios flash error

The bios flash utilities supplied by Gigabyte for their 66t128d
(6600gt) card may not be compatible with the 66t128d. Seems like a
problem to me.. Has anyone else tried this - successfully or not?

The card reports a bios version of F1 and the website describes
version F2 is required to enable SLI. However the gigabyte live
update utility does not find F2, and manually flashing the bios with
their dos utility doesn't work because it returns the error "Card is
unkown". Same problem with both of my cards.

Are there any other options? Gigabyte support is clueless - they sent
me the same files listed on their website then said I needed to rma
when that didn't work, but I don't want to resort to that unless I
have to.

Keep at it with them. Support people usually do start off sending
"boilerplate", pre-prepared solutions. But if it doesn't work they should
help. I've had good experience with Gigabyte.

It's been awhile since I've had a Gigabyte, so I'm not up to the current
utilities.
