Solution
Upgrade to the FX 8370e, and get the GTX 1060 6 GB. Don't buy a GTX 980, it will also get heavy bottlenecks. The GTX 1060 will still get bottlenecked in CPU-intensive games, but the 8370e will certainly be an improvement over the current CPU, and you'll get playable performance, kinda.

I would strongly recommend upgrading the whole PC to a modern platform, like Ryzen or 8th generation Intel. The FX series is terrible for gaming, and you will certainly get bottlenecks with the GTX 1060.
You can upgrade to a 1080 Ti if you want to, it's just not practical to do it. Whoever said the 1050 Ti is maximum factored in your CPU as well. Your CPU is very weak, so pairing it with a GTX 1060 would be a waste because it will get bottlenecked in most games, so after spending on a 1060 you will still get 1050 Ti-like performance. I would agree with whoever said the 1050 Ti is the maximum, in fact even that will most likely get bottlenecked by your CPU.
