Gigabyte 965P-DS3 v3.3 Problems

Hi all,

I am building 2 systems today,

One has a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3, i have installed this with a Corsair HX520Watt PSU, Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 CPU, 1 x 1Gb Stick of Corsair XMS2 Ram, and a Club x1650 Pro PCI-X GPU.

When i attach the power The CPU fan and PSu power up and go out straight away and it will not post. I have everything attached and cleared the cmos

I have a second system on an Abit IN9 32x-Max with a Core 2 Duo E6700, a Corsair HX620Watt PSU and 2 x 1 GB Sticks of Corsair Dominator PC2-8500 CAS 5 Ram and it works fine.

I have tried the components from the Gigabyte system with this mobo and they work but nothing works witht the gigabyte one.

Any one know whats causing this.

i dont think it's a short, i have tried it with 2 different psu's/cpu's and ram. the fans spin up and then stop it does not even post. It just keeps cycling the fan starting and stopping

Remove all the RAM and boot up. Be sure and connect the MB to a speaker first. If you don't hear the MB beep to signifying there is no RAM in the system, you have a bad MB. Return it.

i have tried that and no beeps. I tried the ram in all the slots the machine still stops/starts the fans a few thimes then starts on but no post.

hmmm...I would try and reinstall everything including mounting the board to the tray making sure there were no shorts. Otherwise, you probably have no option but to return it and try another board.

sorry prong i forgot no beeps, so i will try some cheap ddr2 tomorrow and see if its the voltage issue with the ram

umm did you install a aftermarket heatsink? try using the stock intel one. I know the tuniq has been known to cause shorts on the rear of teh motherboard

Can you even get into BIOS? If so then try adjusting the RAM voltage by 0.1+ to 0.3+ depending on what you're RAM specify. But if it doesn't even show anything on the monitor something must not have been plugged in properly somewhere.

Make sure to check everything again.

have not been able to post or get near the bios since i opened its box yesterday. Treid generic cheap ddr2 and that made no difference, so i am rmaing it.
