I am currently working on a new build. After putting it all together, plugging in, and starting up, there is no POST, no display, no signal to keyboard/mouse in any port, and no beeps from the speaker. Beeps do not occur even if I remove all RAM from the board.

System specs:
Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A-DS3P r2.1
CPU: AMD FX-8350
GPU: MSI GeForce GT 730
RAM: Patriot 2x4GB DDR3 1600MHz
PSU: Corsair CX500
HDD: Seagate 1TB

I started out with a 250W PSU and knew that would be an issue, so I put in a brand new 500W yesterday. This did nothing to fix any issues. I installed the motherboard speaker today as well, and nothing has come from it.

At the moment, the computer starts up physically, with all fans on CPU/GPU/case spinning with no lags or skips. However, there is no display, no signal on mouse/keyboard, no signal in, well, any ports on the IO or on the front panel. All wires are connected correctly, and the only things not connected are the PCI-E connectors that I do not need (GPU runs off mobo power). I do not see any LEDs on the mobo itself though like most do.

- I have already reset CMOS with both the battery and the actual jumper.

- I have removed and reseated both RAM sticks one at a time in every slot and combination possible, nothing.

- I have checked my GPU in my old rig, works fine there and is compatible with the new mobo.

- I've tried unplugging the HDD and optical drive, nothing changed.

The only thing at this point that I'm hoping will fix this is the BIOS update I keep reading about, which, according to Gigabyte's website, is required to support AMD FX CPUs. I've also read in many places that the update is not needed and it should be supported already. With the PSU and all other components ruled out, I'm hoping I don't have a dead mobo or CPU and I just need the update.

If it is indeed the update, is there a way I can do it without needing to buy a second CPU just to get into BIOS? If the update isn't the only possible issue here, what else could be the problem and what can I do to fix it?

No, I installed a speaker onto the motherboard as the case did not have one. No beeps from it.
