Gigabyte 970a-ud3p outdated?

I was buying parts for a gaming build a few years back but ended up getting delayed. I ended up buying a gigabyte 970a-ud3p motherboard. I'm just wondering if this motherboard is still good to use our would i be better off buying a new one.

Its an older, outdated platform.
Ideally, you should return it and get something modern (intel 8th/9th gen, or AMD Ryzen (AM4))
