This build is mainly for Games such as Minecraft and skyrim with mods and games like titanfall. Will this work on 1080p high settings?
Thanks in advance everyone.

both great choices, best AMD 970 chipset boards around.

There are lots of differences between them, but both boards will have no performance impact, making either of them both as good as each other. Both are good at overclocking for a 970 based board, though still not the best.

The Gigabyte has a 8+2 phase power design over the Asus's 6+2, So i would only suggest the Gigabyte for that reason.

There are numerous threads and recommended builds which are using FX-6300 with ASUS m5a97 r2.0. Reasons listed on those threads are overclocking capabilities of this ASUS board. Also, ASUS let's you update your bios to latest version with ease, has good Bios GUI and that Dual Intelligent Processors they are bragging about. Basiaclly, it lets you choose between normal, energy saving and turbo regime.

I myself would go fo ASUS m5a97 r2.0.

As for the games, you could play Skyrim and Titanfall with your build for sure.

A slight Correction. I think the ASUS M5970A R2.0 has a 4+2 phase Power Desigh Whereas the GA-970A-UD3P has a 8+2 Phase power desighn which means Gigabyte one is a better(stable) overclocker. Both of them seem to have almost the same features otherwise. Both companies have good quality motherboards.
Personally I would go for the GA-970A-UD3P.

I dont think you would have to flash bios with any of the boards as both support your fx-6300. I think DaniLovrB47 was just pointing a feature of the Asus board.

I know. What I meant was that he doesnt has to worry for a bios update for everything to be compatible at the start. He can definitely update his bios to a stable version if available later.
