Hey all,
I have a Gigabyte mobo that i believe i bricked while uploading a new bios. My upload was interrupted by a power outage. Nolw i cant get the backup bio to kick in nor does it even post. Hit power button everything but the display kicks on and runs. After a few seconds the cpu fans ramp up and down then back to just humming. it repeats this cycle every 15-20 sec. No post. System specs are:
Gigabyte 990fxa-ud5 rev 3.1
AMD 1090t
16gb gskill ram
Sapphire 2gb 6790
samsung 500gb ssd

Ive tried kickin in the backup bios every way i could find to no avail. I then tried pitting the bios on a usb drive and reuploading the bios but i dont know which usb slot to put it Next im going to try removing all hardware but the cpu and try to install it then. So my ???'s are as follows:

  1. Which usb slot am i supposed to use to upload bios?
  2. is there a trick to kick in the backup bios?

Thx for helping you guys rock!

B_BIOS and M_BIOS are designations for Backup BIOS and Main BIOS. I mentioned these since it seems to me like both your BIOS chips are corrupt. You will need to get a hold of a BIOS programmer and reflash the BIOS chips, then try and see if your platform is revived. You can do it yourself or you can locate a repair shop who can do it for you.
