So, I'm running a phenom 2 1090t.
Tried to upgrade to an fx8350 today - supposed to be supported on my mobo, according to the website at gigabyte.

Won't post.

Swap the 1090 back in, world is great.

Did this 4 times today...
Thoughts?

I pulled the CMOS battery for 90 seconds, reseated the CPU and reinstalled heat sink, and still no POST.
Dang - it's been a long time since I've had one dead out of the box. Usually I just drop in the newer CPU, boot, and away it goes.

Now curiously, and I forgot to mention in my first post, the HDD light on the front of my case seems to blink. I'm not getting any audio tones (I don't think this board has a speaker?) - FLash, pause, flash flash. Is it possible that the board has a visual error code flashed on the HDD LED? Can't find anything about that in the support site or manual though...
