I cannot get my new build to display on initial startup. Everything seems to turn on fine, but I get no display from onboard graphics. Been reading about issues with AMD not supporting onboard graphics, not sure if I've fallen into the same trap.

gigabyte AB350M-HD3
AMD Ryzen 5 2400G
Corsair 2x4GB DDR4

**No GPU**

Thanks

Tried a graphics card; no luck. Looks like I'll have to go the boot kit route. Now I have to scrape the thermal paste off my CPU so I can send them proof I own the CPU in question

You haven't fallen into any trap, you may not have the newest BIOS update, non-APU Ryzen CPU's don't have onboard graphics however the APU's do, so that isn't the issue. The issue is usually the motherboard BIOS, if that's the issue you can get in contact with AMD and they will send out a cheap AM4 CPU (an Athlon not a Ryzen) it's a single or dual core with crappy onboard graphics that will work good enough to flash your BIOS to a newer version, and according to the website that board does not natively support the APU's but should with a BIOS update.

That won't fix the issue, the APU won't even work, even with a discrete GPU, without a BIOS update that supports it.

To me, it sounds like the system is booting with the APU, but not giving a display. I'd be interested in knowing if it actually is booting.

I believe the boot kit CPU has integrated graphics, all be it terrible, that you can use the motherboard outputs to do the BIOS update.
