Question Gigabyte Aero new ssd not showing in disk management

There are two M.2 SSD slots on that model, however only one of the two slots supports the use of SATA type M.2 drives. Looking at the video shows an M.2 drive being put in the wrong slot on the AERO 15 (i7-8750H).

I suggest reading the Storage specifications and looking at the diagram for the correct location.

BTW, you wrote that you, "uses the same SSD" as on the video. I do not agree. They are not the same SSD. At one minute into the video, the video shows a 1TB NVMe M.2 drive while your post above shows a 2TB SATA M.2 drive.

Good catch Calvin7, I was about to comment similarly.

@fhud. the M2 formfactor is not universal. It allows for either or both Sata & PCIe type drives. What the M2 slot is actually wired as is left up to the discretion of the manufacturer. As you've found, a Sata M2 drive will not work in a slot only wire as PCIe.
