Hi,

I am building a new system to replace the ageing 4790. The planned setup includes:

  • Intel 9900k
  • Gigabyte Aorus Pro z390 wifi
  • Lian Li PC-o11 case
-Corsair 750 watt ATX power supply (already have)
  • MSi 1080Ti graphics card (already have)
  • 2x 1TB Samsung Evo SSD

I need to get a cooler and memory.

  1. For cooler given the processoe, do you recommend Corsair H115 or H150?
  2. For memory what brand/speed goes well with Gigabyte?

I use the PC for P3DV4 (flightsim) almost exclusively and will OC to 5ghz.

thanks

Solution
  1. If you can bigger cooler means near silent operation. Both will be fine, if you can get H150 cheap, I would pick it, but both should be nice & easy.
  2. I don't have a lot of experience with Gigabyte, but I have not heard of much. If any global issues would happen, we would know.

it seems like no issues whatsoever, so
3200 speeds so for example:
G.SKILL 8/16GB 3200MHz Ripjaws V CL16

I’m on Gigabyte Z390 Aorus platform too.

In terms of memory, I recommend you buying a kit from Kingston HyperX Fury.
These are Plug-n-Play memory modules that will run at their advertized speeds by default, without dealing with XMP.

They are not the fastest modules on the market, but they are very stable.
