Question Gigabyte Aorus Master X570 & NVMe M.2 drives

Greetings,
I have a question about the Gigabyte Aorus Master X570 MB M.2 slots. I currently have 2 1TB Gigabyte Aorus NVMe Gen 4 M.2 drives installed. One of the drives is on M2A_Socket & the other on M2C_Socket.
I clone my main drive on M2A to M2C which is blazingly fast. It will clone hundreds of gigs in 7 minutes.

I decided to try and move M2C M.2 drive to the M2B slot. Well, when I did that and tried to clone the M2A drive to the M2B drive the cloning time jumped to 7 hours as estimated by the cloning software! 7 minutes to 7 hours! Yikes! I soon put it back in the M2C slot and I've got my blazingly fast cloning back again.

I assume that M2A and M2B slots are sharing the bus lanes/channels hence the noticeably lower speeds?

Here is my main question. I wish to install a Sabrent M.2 drive in the now-empty M2B slot. If I utilize the now empty M2B slot will that have any effect on the speed of my cloning speed from M2A slot ( Gigabyte drive) to M2C slot ( Gigabyte drive) which I am currently enjoying?

The M2 slot closest to the cpu is the fast PCIe 4.0 slot, the other is going through the chipset at 3.0 speeds.

Most of the x570 motherboards are like this.

Strange M2A to M2C = 7 minute clone time while M2A to M2B = 7 hour clone time?

If I install a Sabrent M.2 drive in the now-empty M2B slot would that have any effect on the speed of my cloning speed from M2A slot ( Gigabyte drive) to M2C slot ( Gigabyte drive)?

I just added my third internal SSD Crucial MX500 Drive on SATA 0. I just rebuilt the RAID 0 from two SSD's to three SSD's. The performance increase is amazing:

Next up is the Sabrent 4TB Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 Internal SSD High-Performance Solid State Drive (SB-ROCKET-4TB) which I plan to put in the empty M2B slot. I currently changed the cloning software from O&O Diskimage Pro to Macrium Reflect. The new clone time from M2A slot drive to M2C slot drive is 4 min 25 seconds for over 300GIGs of data. AMAZING! I don't think utilizing the M2B slot on the MB with the Sabrent will have any impact on that. I'll let you know....

Might be different on yours,but on mine b450 aorus pro the m2b only supports m2 ssd and not the NVME .Just a thought

Might be different on yours, but on mine B450 Aorus Pro the m2b only supports m.2 SSD and not the NVMe. Just a thought.

True the Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro is PCIe 3.0 M.2's whereas the Master supports PCIe 4.0 4th Generation drives such as the AORUS NVMe Gen4 SSD 1TB

Currently, I have it set up as M2A to M2C = 4 minutes 25 seconds clone time, but when I moved the drive from M2C slot to the M2B slot the following happened; clone time increased massively M2A to M2B = 7 hour clone time?

I suspect M2A & M2B share something together? Although the above-listed Storage Interface denies such?

Once I get the Sabrent drive and toss it into the M2B slot I wonder if that will effect the M2A to M2C cloning times currently at 4 minutes 25 seconds. I think not...

Last time the backup ran it took about 20 minutes. Not much added in size to the drive. Macrium Reflect is now set to perform a weekly clone unattended and it has been doing a good job of that.

I'll leave the drives where they are and when I get the Sabrent 4TB Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 Internal SSD High-Performance Solid State Drive (SB-ROCKET-4TB) toss it in M2B_slot and post the benchmark tests for it.

Unfortunately, this will now be delayed due to my iPhone 6 crapping out and having to spend $1,200 on a new iPhone 11 Pro Max 256 GB.
