So as mentioned in the title of the question, I will be getting the Gigabyte B360 Aorus Gaming 3 motherboard for $149 alongside the Intel i5-8400 2.8ghz LGA 1151 (300 series) CPU. I'm just wondering if these two can work together.

The concern I have is that the CPU is LGA 1151 (300 series) whereas the motherboard can only support LGA 1151 processors. Since the CPU is a more recent? CPU chip, I don't know if it will be recognised by the motherboard

Thanks for any replies and help

Solution
The CPU and motherboard are made for each other. Same generation.

Gigabyte B360 Aorus Gaming 3 for $149 must be $CAD or else you're overpaying.

Yeah sorry, it's $149 AUD

Just to make sure, you said they are the same generation, although the motherboard doesn't explicitly say that it supports 300 series, only LGA 1151.. are you sure it's okay to pair the two of them?
