I have Samsung 970 Evo plus 2tb and am looking at purchasing a new computer with the Gigabyte B450 AORUS PRO WIFI (rev. 1.0).
According to the website (https://www.gigabyte.com/au/Motherboard/B450-AORUS-PRO-WIFI-rev-10#kf ) it states that it has a
1X PCIe 3.0 x4 / SATA Dual Mode Type 22110 and
1X PCIe 3.0 x2 / SATA Dual Mode Type 2280

To take full advantage of the SSD it seems I would need to place it in the x4 slot however, I am unsure if this would even be compatible as it is listed as SATA Dual mode?

I am just a little bit confused if this is a good motherboard for the SSD and which slot I would use.

Solution
1 x M.2 connector (Socket 3, M key, type 2242/2260/2280/22110 SATA and PCIe 3.0 x4/x2 SSD support) (M2A_SOCKET)
1 x M.2 connector (Socket 3, M key, type 2242/2260/2280 PCIe 3.0 x2 SSD support)(M2B_SOCKET)

Yes, it will work fine. It is an M.2 NVME drive, it is not a drive that you put in a PCIe slot.

It's a non issue. Both M.2 slots on that board support PCIe NVME M.2 drives like the 970 EVO Plus.

Right, I was looking at the wrong page. Key features, not specification. So just to be entirely clear I should put it in the top slot to take full advantage of the x4 speed?
