hi there i really need help, i have a optical drive and it wont show up in bios i know it works as i literally jsut was changing my mobo from a b350m-k to a b450 , ut the b450 isnt detecting the cd drive for some reason so i cant reinstall windows, it also isnt detecting my 2nd SSD , i have x2 WD BLUE 500GB M.2 SSDS only the one from my old pc works , doesnt seem to detect new one. really need help as atmo i have no idea how im even on this as i havent reinstalled the os its jsut using the os from the ssd. i cant fres install either as it isnt detecting the cd drive i have tried several of the sata ports and did cables, also though i am lost in the bios maybe there is something i need to turn on , i jsut know the boot order thing really and it isnt showing up. thanks for the help

Solution
Read your manual. I suspect it will tell you that a sata port is shut off by default when using M.2 storage. Additionally check to see if the sata ports are disabled in the bios.
It probably requires a driver or BIOS update to use it. For now download the Windows 10 ISO and put it on a flash drive to get Windows installed.

When installing Windows only have 1 drive in the system, install the other drives once you have Windows installed and working properly.

Once you have Windows working add in your second SSD and install the optical drive. If the SSD doesn't show up go into Drive Management and activate it. If the optical drive doesn't show up then there's probably a driver/update on the manufacturers website that should allow you to use it.

i think your right sata ports where not working , i took out both m.2s and it recognised the Optical drive right away, changed some settings and it works now, the m.2 issue is that 1 is a pcie/sata dual mode , other is jsut pcie , so i need a nvme m.2 for the second slot cant use two sata m.2's feelsbad, thanks for the help though guys
