I am looking at this bundle at Micro Center:
www.microcenter.com
According to the manufacturers website:
This motherboard on revision 1.4 supports all processors that can socket in if I am understanding the "since BIOS version" notation FA correctly. I contacted Micro Center support to see if they know for sure what revision the board is and they state they aren't sure and are telling me the motherboard will require a BIOS revision to work with the CPU in the bundle (5600X). They charge $30 for the service. They don't do online sales so I would have to drive up, buy it, put it in the service cue and then go back again to pick it up. These are 1.5+ hour trips one way. (it would be cheaper to buy an Athlon to use for purpose)
So, to back up a little bit. I am building this system for a friend who does picture editing. The current system is an HP prebuilt that we updated to a R5 1600 and it came with an RX550. I know that if the revision isn't right, I can just use the CPU in the current system to update. This person lives a bit over two hours away and I would 'like' to have it built and ready for them as a barter trade for their services (they don't know I am doing this)
Anyway....
Just to keep things super short and simple as I can, WHERE on the packaging or motherboard will it specify which revision the motherboard is?
