Running a Guigabyte B85 MB with a single 8Gb Kingston Hyper X RAM on Windows 8.1 Pro. Machine is unstable and screen flashes. Unable to operate at all. Swap out RAM for Kingston Value RAM 4Gb and all seems OK. Is there an issue with B85 and Hyper X. Sure looks that way.

Solution
What CPU, which B85 and what model of Hyper X? Do you have the latest BIOS? Initial thought if a lower end CPU try raising the the DRAM voltage + 0.05

HI, Thanks for the quick response!. No I did not change any RAM settings as It seem to start and run OK on the default setting, I will look now. The CPU is an Intel i3 4360 1.7-3.7Ghz The main board is a Gigabyte G-B85-D3H. Will try the voltage tweak as well.

Tried to adjust the RAM voltage but no go the BIOS is on auto and won't change from 1.5V also the frequency is fixed
