I am building the PC so I can use my GTX 950 - I know you are jealous!
  1. The BIOS has settings for graphics preferred: "PCIe 1 slot" or IGFX (onboard graphics)
  2. I got no display from my GTX using PCIe preferred (dozens of reboots), so I switched to MB graphics (dozens...)
  3. I prepped a USB w/ BIOS F9 (latest) and planned to re-flash. But...
  4. I saw an option to DISABLE THE LOCAL GRAPHICS - maybe I should try that first...
  5. BAD IDEA!
Any option other than wipe out CMOS (?) memory?
  • Disconnect power, short the BAT pins for 10 seconds (I think)
,
THANKS

GA B250M DS3H, i5 6500, GTX card worked fine in a defective MSI B250M Gaming Pro MB earlier today

Clear CMOS or buy a new board, only options.

Everything works perfectly (I think) - EXCEPT the PCIe slots.
  • In slot 1 (16 and the default V card slot per the BIOS) I've tried 2 video cards: a GTX 950 (that worked this AM on another B250M MB) and an old piece of junk (because I had it) - NO SIGNAL
  • In slot 2 I tried an old USB 3.0 adapter (nothing registered)
  • I flashed to the newest BIOS
If I want to use a GTX graphics card, I need a new MB right?

All Graphics cards use the same Pcie connector and so far as i know are compatible with every type of motherboard
