Motherboard: Gigabyte H110M-H
BIOS version: F24 (4/11/2018)

From the image above you can see there is some blank space after Boot Option Priorities and then it goes directly to Fast Boot without showing any boot options.

Furthermore,
I have 2 storage devices:
  • 256 GB SSD
  • 500 GB ailing hard drive

I myself installed Windows on only the SSD, however when I remove the hard drive, the PC refuses to boot and will just open the BIOS screen with no boot options.
The SSD is still definitely connected, as it shows up as SATA0 on the BIOS, but just won't boot.

After I connect back the ailing HDD, the PC boots normally again with windows.

This HDD is also no longer accessible, it doesn't show up on Windows Explorer anymore and only shows up on the partition manager as an uninitialized disk.
Upon trying to initialize it, partition manager throws an error "A device which does not exist was specified"

I believe both these issues are connected, Any help would be appreciated.

1| What BIOS version are you on for your motherboard? You've specified the motherboard's make and model but please verify the PCB version for said motherboard.

2| Did you install the OS while the SSD was the only drive hooked up to your platform? if not, then part of your OS's partition was created on aforementioned HDD. You can verify this by reinstalling the OS with only the SSD hooked up(while the HDD is disconnected).

You might want to backup data off that HDD, while it's yet alive.

What menu options do you get if you right-click on the unallocated area of drive 1?

Can you bring it online, and assign it a drive letter?

Another option is to plug in to a different sata port, see if it's detected.

None, they're all greyed out. I can only get 'initialize disk' if i right click on Disk 1.

Will try

Also i must add this HDD was acting funny lately, 300 gb of its space was blacked out (like all of it is now), and I couldnt even format it during windows installation. I don't care for it or its data, just want PC to be able to boot without it.

Then you can remove it totally and try to boot.

If it doesnt boot try clearing/resetting the cmos jumper on the motherboard. Reboot and check.
