Gigabyte Bios locks over clock

I have an aorus k5 z270 board and an i5' 7600k. I used the presets for overclocks for a while, and the. My friend told me they could be damaging, and I started experiencing problems with my overclock. When I decided to try and manually over lock. Unfortunately when I tried to do that my CPU core frequency seemed locked no matter what I did. I have found no one else with this problem, and would really appreciated some help.

A little more data would help.....a screenshot of HW Info, or even CPUz would be a good start. Screenshots of your "locked" core frequency from the bios would be really good as well.
