Gigabyte board + Voodoo3 = no 3D

I posted this question to the motherboard section, and I figure I have nothing to lose to post this here. I have
a Gigabyte 6BXC m/b and a Voodoo3 3000 AGP card. Since
January this year I have had no luck getting any 3D functions off the card; just the basic Windows/DOS display. Tests with DXDiag end up with an offcentered
and artifacted screen, and any 3D games/benchmarks I run end up hanging the system.

3dfx's site says that my particular m/b has a problem with
the linear regulator (whatever that means) in the AGP slot, but the two should work together. Anyone with this particular combination and get it to work? And anyone know anything about this linear vs switching AGP regulator problem?

HELLFIRE,

I have heard of similiar issues. I am not going to BS you, I don't directly know how to resolve the issue but I would at least ensure your BIOS is up tp date. I know from experiance that Gigabyte has resolved other AGP related issue through thier infamous BIOS updates. I would also do what I have done, E-Mail the Giga-Byte support team. Surprisingly they do reply.
support@giga-byte.com can be mailed for support questions.

Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention that I have
flashed my BIOS with the latest update on Gigabyte's
site and am using the latest drivers from 3dfx, still
no change. I will email both 3dfx and Gigabyte support
and see if they have any suggestions.
