Hello,
I have GA-870a-UD3 which refuses to boot windows 7 or 10 from usb or DVD (internal SATA). Hard drive has ubuntu on it which installed from USB, but windows will not. I have made bootable USB sticks with rufus and the media creation tool. Now I have bought some DVDs and burned a bootable 10 disk from the official microsoft ISO and it still wont boot. I have mucked about with all of the BIOS options available. The board will also not read my USB stick (tried 2 different ones) to update my BIOS. Any suggestions? Cheers

Hello.

Have you tried tinkering with the SATA modes? If the SATA is not in native IDE, it might be your issue. Or check if USB legacy boot is disabled.
Look here, at page 45:

Check if the settings are as indicated. Especially USB Storage Function. You can always try disabling the USB3 controller or changing the SATA modes and see if it then boots. Reset the bios if you have issues.

Thanks for reply but unfortunately those are already the settings I have been trying. I may actually have tried every possible combination of settings now. Probably time to buy a new board, although definitely not from gigabyte this time. Unless there are any other possible reasons
