Gigabyte DS3R board not good w/ 2.2v ram???

Hey i had a question about the voltages that the DS3R board can use for its ram. I am building a new system and someone on the forums told me not to use the Patriot Extreme Performance DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) PDC22G6400LLK due to its 2.2 voltage because the ds3r board will give problems with that voltage. So he told me to either use the Corsair XMS(TWIN2X2048-6400C4) or the OCZ Platinum(OCZ2P800R22GK). He said that "It will save you a lot of headaches, and possible RMA's" does anyone know if this is true?

I have 2 kits of the PDC22G6400LLK Patriot Extreme PC2-6400 Low Latency Dual Channel memory (4x 1 GB) in my Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P and it work fine at stovk voltage (1.8v) at 5-5-5-15 timings. But I can't get it to work at 4-4-4-12 at +0.4v (2.2v) without over a hundred errors on Memtest86+ v1.7 with each pass. I didn't know if it was the memory or the motherboard...
