Question Gigabyte EP-45 DQ6 motherboard - i want to max the memory out at 16 gb

i currently have 4x2 for 8 gb which I assume I cannot use. where can I buy the correct DDR2 module kit to get me to 16 GB?

I had an EP45-UD3 with an E8400 for a few years. It's a DDR2 board and supports up to 1333 but 1333 was very uncommon. You'll want to find 4 x 4GB of DDR2 800 somewhere. I'm not going on a hunt right now but I can't think that's going to be cheap if you buy new. DDR2 is still on the market but it's so obsolete it's a niche product and isn't cheap. I'd try ebay. Buy something branded. Corsair, GSkill, Samsung, Crucil, Mushkin etc.

The one new kit I see on pcpartpicker is $315.
