I haven't reformatted my PC since my old motherboard died (nforce 680i SLi.

I then switched to this current board ep43-ud3L. I updated to windows 7 after my old motherboard died and now since I did not reformat I believe that has caused driver issues and my computer freezes every now and then, sometimes more often then not.

I am trying to do a full re-install for windows. I have changed BIOS settings to boot from CD/DVD in BIOS and during start up...With the CD in, it says "press any key to boot from CD/DVD....." I press keys and nothing happens, I boot right back to windows. I am not sure what do next, anyone that can help?

Motherboard: ep43-ud3l gigabye
CPU: x6800 core 2 Extreme
RAM: 4GB patriot RAM 800mhz
GPU: Geforce BFG 260
HDD: Vraptor 250GB
Windows 7 64-bit

It sounds like your keyboard input is not registering.

Sometimes USB can be finicky, this is especially true for older boards. You may need to go into BIOS to enable USB DOS/BIOS/EMULATION Support. This allows USB keyboards to be recognized for stuff like this.

Alternatively, try a different keyboard, I had 1 that would never register unless in a windows environment. Took a while to figure that one out. If possible, try a old PS/2 keyboard. Those have yet to fail me.

I have a logitech g110 USB keyboard, it seems to work in BIOS and works fine pressing the menu option buttons during boot up e.g f9 or DEL to enter bios...Nothing happens when I have to press "any key" to boot CD/DVD though. I'll try enabling USB in my BIOS
