Gigabyte F12 boot menu doesn't work, z97p-d3

i just got my new pc, it has gigabyte z97p-d3 and g3258, and i want to enter boot menu to update bios so i can overclock my cpu, but when i press f12 black screen appears and my mouse pointer on it nothing else, that also happens when i try to enter f9 or system information

According to your motherboard manual, tapping the DEL key is the only way you can access your BIOS menu. Tapping F9 will show you your system information while F12 is meant to take you to the BOOT menu.

It's best if you could pass on your full systems specs and you've made sure your BIOS is up to date.
