Hey guys,
Just received my Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 Gaming edition. This is the card with the 3 fans and the orange accents.
Installed the card in my Asus Z97-A Mobo w/ i7 4770k running Windows 10 Home 64-bit. Uninstalled all drivers and clean installed for new card. Navigated to Gigabyte website to download utility software to control the RGB Gigabyte and "Fan Stop" logo which was cycling different colors by default. Everything seemed to be working well.
I restart my computer, and everything crashes. My display is now showing multi-color vertical lines. Differently a display issue. I'm using a QNIX 2710 1440p Monitor connected to the card via DVI. Again, everything worked perfect before the restart. I played some DOOM for about 45 min and got reasonable temps and great FPS.
Now, the card is STILL displaying the GREEN on the Gigabyte and "Fan Stop" logo. I change PCI slots and attempt to clean install all the display software again. Still nothing, vertical lines, Crash.
I double check all my connection from the PSU to the GPU. Re-seat the GPU and make sure the monitor is properly connected. Everything is good. It seems the card runs fine at tiny resolution without the display driver installed (latest by nvidia).
I just blew out my entire system and re-installed windows, STILL THE SAME RESULT. the weird thing is, the GPU is still displaying a green color on the RGB logos the way I had it set after installing the crappy Gigabyte Xtreme software to control the colors. After completely blowing out my computer and re-installing windows, i'm convinced the BIOS on the card is corrupt somehow.
Am i missing something? Is there anything else I could try?? Any help would be appreciated.
