2 days ago the fans was working like this
- When Silent/Stop on, the fans is not spinning (it's normal)
-When Silent/Stop Off, the fans start spinning
(it's normal as well)

Now the Silent/Stop is On and the fans spins and stop immediately, once the fans is off it starts again and stops

The indicator of fan speed shows like 1300 RPM / 0 RPM with interval like 1 second and it's non stop
1300 / 0 / 1300 / 0 / 1300 / 0 each 1 second and the fans just start and stop start and stop and Silent/Stop leds always on

My Windows still clean, and just installed latest nvidia drivers and still the same
Also my temp at idle is 59~60 never goes below 59 is it normal ?

sorry if my explanation isn't that good, excuse my English :)
Thanks in advance

Solution
The newer GPUS are designed to run at idle without the fans spinning. As long as your load temps ins't much over 80C, you're fine. You shouldn't get any difference in life span. If it bothers you too much, just set a manual fan curve. You can also check your cable management and airflow inside your case. My 970 Strix runs at 40C idle (fans off), but I also have a liquid cooler on my CPU (eliminating case heat from the CPU), a 200mm fan and 5 120 mm fans with my PSU exhausting out of the bottom of my case. So 55C on idle for you could be about right depending on your fan setup and cable management.
What is the ambient temperature? 60C at idle is a little high, but nothing dangerous especially if the fans aren't spinning. What temps do you get on load?

You could go ahead and download MSI Afterburner and set your own fan curve.

Well let me tell u the Temp currently
Weather is 40C outside
AC right now is on at 24C so i guess the room temp is quite cool
Nothing on But firefox ATM and it's 59~60 fan spins and stops and it goes to spin again right before full stop, Silent/Stop is ON
and on Load it's 70~75C when AC is OFF and ambient temp around 30C
haven't tried yet with AC on at 24C
I tried to do manual fan speed with OC Guru II, Ofc not 100%, at 40% the Temp goes to 50~55 but i feel like i dont wanna keep my fans on all the time, so it's lifespan should be longer or am i mistaken ?

Depending on case airflow, yes it could be 55-60c. The GPU is operating properly if it's only at 70c on load.
I do agree about checking for malware or datamining though.

There should be a fan on the case side that takes the Air from the case to outside, but i'm not using the side at all, i prefer not to close the case for better air flow,

Also i doubt the hard disk produce much heat and the fan on their right is moving theit hot air to the VGA but i set windows to close 3 hard disks and now 3 is off and only 1 running , while on gaming 2 hard disk is running

i know it's mess and wires looks terrible but i couldn't manage it because HDDs is using many cables (power and sata)

Is there something wrong i set ?
as i'm talking to u now with 24C room temp and nothing runs on PC and the case as u see in pic it's 60C and as u can see Silent/Stop is on and fan is spinning and stopping

I have a clean windows with Clean data, checked and did full scan couple of days ago and i can tell u i did the testing with 1 HDD formatted only it contains Windows + Metal Gear Solid (Steam) so i can test idle and load without being worried about viruses and malwares

I have no idea why you're not responding anymore to the thread but i can say at load i never reached 80 so i should be fine, if u just can have a look to the pic i uploaded and tell me the right way to set the fans (It's about sucking air from the case, or blowing into it)

And thanks again for ur replays :)

My apologies, I hadn't seen that this thread was updated. It looks like the hard drives are restricting a lot of intake airflow. I'm not saying that IS the problem, but it could be a contributing factor. It also looks like the PC is really dusty, I'd definitely try cleaning it out. I might cwould consider adding that extra case fan to blow air into the case. I do think you're okay, the GPU is cooling properly on load which is the main thing. Did you ever try adjusting your fan curve to see if that helps also?

Again, I apologize for not responding sooner.

Update: Also to make you feel better, my GTX 970 Strix by default doesn't spin the fans until it reaches 60c, so they're designed to run warm on idle like this.

It's ok, You don't have to apologize :)
Thanks for responding as well, as i feel that i'm asking too many, but i think you understand, this card is expensive and if something happened to it by miss usage i may even lose warranty.

I cleaned that dust completely, yeah i tried the fan curve and i can say it was at 40C max with fans running 1500~1800 RPM and it's not making any noise

Now final questions and i mean it -FINAL- :)

1- Will fans running 1800~2000 RPM which is quite for me and makes no noise affects the fans lifespan? Considering running the PC for 2~3 days continuously downloading.. rendering etc.. ?

2- You suggested adding extra fan to blow air into the case, i don't have any extra places to add one so should i adjust the rear fan to blow instead of sucking ?

3- should i close the case ? the door has a fan which i can adjust to blow inside or suck outside! while i think leaving it opened makes better cooling for me, since the Card produce a heat which makes it too hot inside case ?

4- Last thing (Kinda off-topic): While Nvidia LED Visualizer on with Audio flashing It eats rams after around 12h working on PC like this

Last day it went up to 2 GB so i had to change it to Breathing instead. I just want to know am i the only one who has this problem as well or it's common.

Well it's almost everything i want to know :) and now i think i got all my questions answered and all my worries gone 😀

Thanks for your patience and your help, i really appreciate it :)

That fan curve should be fine and won't effect its lifespan. If that card fails in the next couple of years and you haven't overclocked it or tampered with it in any way, it'll still be under RMA. So don't worry about that.

I didn't realize you had the side panel off, so I was suggesting adding a fan to it. I would see if there is any temperature difference with the side panel on versus it off because if it were me, I'd always keep the side panel on. Make that fan an intake also. That way nothing gets in the PC. You always want at least one exhaust (which is fine in the rear of the PC) so keep that one where it is. I don't have a GPU with the LED visualizer on it, so I can't be 100% on this but it is definitely using to much RAM. If you have 16GB, I wouldn't worry about it, but if you only have 4GB or 8GB, then I'd just keep it off. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be eating that much RAM or not.

Feel free to ask as many questions as you want and i'll do my best to answer them the best I can.

Thanks again, I decided to take your advice about fan curve, While on auto it's almost as quite as silent even when temp goes up to 72C which i noticed while gaming the card not passing 71C

I don't wanna waste much power on lower temp, also i don't wanna have slow spinning on High Temps
So how do u see this curve ? -If you have better Values i'd like to know it- and i'll set it up- OC Guru II works fine with me so it's on Auto now, and the Defaults for Manual is

30C > 40%
40C > 50%
50C > 60%
60C > 80%
70C > 90%
80C > 100%

I don't know, But as far as i noticed during heavy load on AUTO and it's 72C the card keeps its 70~71 while i don't hear the fan,it's fast yes but not on max speed, and on this curve on 70+ it's 90 and 90 it's really Very noisy, may be this curve has higher values that it should be ?

Finally managed to solve it :)

As i posted above the GPU Clock was running @ 1152 Mhz all the time, that was because i had Power Management Mode on Nvidia Control Panel on Prefer Maximum Performance in the Global settings.

Now i changed it to Adaptive in Global setting and Maximum Performance in each game profile.

Before that i did reinstalled Nvidia driver (Clean Installation)
Once i restarted the GPU Clock is @ 135 Mhz and memory @ 202 Mhz.

Tested opening a game which has Maximum performance and it jumped up to GPU/Memory 1152/1752 once i closed it the GPU is not stucking anymore and downclocked

So Temp has went from 60C idle with fans Auto @1400 RPM (which i knew it was abnormal)
To 40~44C with fully stopped fans (0 RPM) which was about 4 days ago. (The way it was)

Feeling Relieved :)

That is great Amir, sorry it's a late response as I just got this card, but the readings I get are lower than this, I mean at idle when fans are totally stopped the temps are 27-28c max, and when fully loaded with overclocking it never get past 70c, these hard drives are getting in the way of the front intake fan and are producing a lot of heat raising the over-all case temperature and affecting the performance of the card (it will boost it's clock better if it runs cooler), I recommend getting another case with better airflow and mounting options, also if you will be using alot of hard drives with cages like this then it's better to use static pressure fans as intake to overcome the cages and let the cool air go through to the other components, mine is the Corsair Graphite 780T which is a great option for airflow setups and I installed two 140mm SP Corsair fans in the front but I'm using one SSD which is side mounted and one 4TB hard drive mounted in a 3-bay cage (removed the other cage that comes with the case for better airflow).
