Hi everybody,

I got a system two months ago with GA-770TA-UD3, AMD Phenom II X2 555 B.E. 4 cores worked without a problem. Now the problem is, there was a sale for the G.Skill sticks 2x4GB and I bought them just to overclock and my previous sticks was Kingston 2x2GB HyperX 1333MHz. My board has 4 slots and two of them supports up to 1833Mhz my new sticks are 1600MHz also in ganged mode with automatic settings it shows 1600 with no problem. The thing I'm trying to achieve with these 2x4 sticks reach 1833MHz but I couldn't find any info how to do it. The G.Skill manual says do not use automatic settings instead use 9x9x9x24 and 1.5V I did that nothing happened stil 1600MHz.

Is it possible to do that? Does anyone have any experience with that configuration.

Let the board decide what speed and timings you can run at. Your slower ram wasn't meant to run at 1833; I haven't had much luck overclocking gskill ram. I have four 4 gb sticks of ripjawsX; for overclocking, I just set the ram in manual at 1066, and the cpu fsb from 200 to 250 this morning, and wola, it runs great. This ram was rated at 1333, which is the speed it's running at now with the cpu overclocked. You set the ram speed down a notch, and change the cpu fsb by 20-25% for a stable overclock. You must set both in manual, not auto.
