Gigabyte GA - 78LMT - S2P Compatible CPU

Hey guys just wondering if the AMD APU A6-6400K Black edition is compatible with my Gigabyte GA - 78lmt-s2p if not would anyone happen to know which is best for about 50-75 quid for a entry/mid level gaming pc thanks in advanced and sorry for any poor grammar or spelling.

No, the apu is socket Fm2 and the motherboard is am3+. Here is a list of cpus compatible with that motherboard.

No the A6-6400K will not be compatible as your motherboard is an AM3+/AM3 motherboard. It will be compatible with AMD Sempron/Athlon II/Phenom II/FX 8,6,4 Series. Good news is that AM3+ have stronger processors than the FM2+/FM2 platform that uses AMD A10/A8/A6/A4/Athlon APU/CPUs.

50-75 quid (if the British currency) could probably get you FX 6300 (good budget gaming cpu) or an FX 4350. But both of those will be closer to 75. But you will need to have a separate/discrete video card.

Thanks guys. This is my first time ( build virgin) I have a radeon hd something 2gb with 8gb cosair memory sorry I haven't got it plugged up, cant remember off the top of my head I was looking at the fx 4300 but may have to go with the fx 6300. Thanks again.
