How do you make a Gigabyte ga-78lt-usb3 6.0 motherboard use AHCI mode? Changing BIOS settings made no difference.

Likely, you will need to have AHCI enabled in the bios and THEN install Windows.

What version of Windows are you running AND do you have the latest bios version installed?

Windows 10. Latest BIOS is already installed.

Have you tried doing a fresh install WITH AHCI enabled? Usually, if a legacy compatibility mode was enabled when the OS was installed, the partition and boot information do not support a change to AHCI after the fact.
