Hi, trying to fix my mobo Gigabyte Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000. PC doesnt power up, no fans/HDD spin, no POST, no video nothing. Pushing the power button does nothing.

Well, so far steps i ve taken:
- I checked the PSU, shortcircuited the pins in order to check if it works. Changed with a good one. nothing.
- disconnected everthing. I left only CPU, Ram. Nothing. I removed also the GPU.
- Checked mobo for strange capacitors or blown elements. nothing strange.
- Used reset button instead of power button to power up in case the button was faulty.

2 facts in case they can help:
-last thing before mobo goes blank was to plug a usb stick. (of course I unplugged every usb connector from mobo afterwards)
-i can hear a really silent Voltage whine when I power on the PSU.

I believe there a short circuit somewhere and I assume it has to do with USB ports, controller etc.
Any ideas?Thoughts?

It's definitely the motherboard and its an old one so no warranty. I was hoping to hear any insights like check that component, or cut those PCB trails (crazy idea) :pt1cable: to isolate USB circuitry.. ok I am asking too much, right? I think i'll have to live with my dead mobo..
