Please help.any advice would be very appreciated
My situation is the following...
I got my MB 1 week ago (shipped with bios f6)
-Tested with 1 stick of ram/graphics card/ cpu/ psu/ mouse and keyboard.
-Started right up.
-Entered bios and configured memory voltage to 1.9 (corsair recommended)
-Shut down.
-Installed second stick of ram (configuration 1 and 3 for dual channel)
-Rebooted
-Bios Recognized all ram
-proceeded to install windows xp pro
-installed all drivers
-updated bios to f9
-powered down and restarted a few times while installing other software and configuring, no problems.
-powered off for the night and went to bed
Next morning I went to turn it on my problem started
-When I attempt to power on
-all peripherals light, drives start, fans start but only for about 3 seconds then powers off for about 2 seconds then repeats.
-no bios is shown on screen. no beeps
-it does this usually 4-5 times then decides to stay on though it will not boot bios or beep.
-when I restart from here everything boots fine. Loads with no errors and starts win xp.
-OS runs fine, doesn’t crash
-I can restart (reset and shutdown) without any problems.
-It seems I only get the problem when attempting to power on after pc has been sitting for a few hours (ex. overnight)

So I’ve tried the following….
-when starting with one stick of ram (either stick works) system starts
-after letting it run a minute or so I can power down insert the second stick and power on without a problem.

I would appreciate any advice I can get. Thanks-Jeremy

It is normal for this board to start for a few secs, then shutdown and re-start. It is checking to see if the bios settings are compatable and safe. If they are not, it wont start and you have to short the bios pins back to a factory safe condition.

Never heard it cycle so many times. Refusal to boot most always is from incompatable bios settings.

I hear the f7 bios is the way to go right now. Ive been researching this board closely and a lot of people are reporting probs with bioses f8 and f9. If you can, go back to f7 and see if the problems go away. Hope this helps
