hi
i bought 4x4Gb =16GB Corsair Vengeance (cmz8gx3m2a1600c9) and got Bluescreens.
always after first start-up i got BSOD and then auto reset and no BSOD more ( even with Aida64 stress over hour) till i shut down the pc again for over an hour . then if i turn it on i get BSOD in Win withing first 5 mins and auto reset and no more BSOD. then i found after 4-5 days out that my CPU (FX 8350) doesn't reach the needed voltage to run 4x4gb RAMs @1333 or 1600. Actually i run them @ 1333, but the auto settings are not allowed for 4 modules!

my problem :
1) i want an option that holds the spectrum of CPU voltage between 0.8000 - 1.4800 v. The CPU or MB doesn't do it automatically. It must increase the CPU voltage up to 1,5v absolute automatically to support every sort of RAMs. i don't wanna set a constant value as voltage, then it must be ~ 1.47v to run my RAMs @ 1600 or 1333.
it's stupid to set a constant value as VCore because it decreases the life time of CPU and produces heat enormously!

Auto VCore = 0.888 - 1.344 v
1333 RAMs need 1.380 - 1.430 v *
1600 RAMs need 1.395 - 1.470 v (@1600 is possible ;). it needs extra juice) *
*These values are the results of my stress tests and voltage modifications.

2) Dynamic VCore is useless and problematic.
as soon as i set a value to Dynamic VCroe( DVID ) then my pc doens't start. i must clear bios ( CMOS clear).
it doesn't matter which value i set. 0.1 or 0.01 etc. i tried dozen numbers(values). No chance. it's supposed not to be changed !!!!! WHY ?!?!?!?!?! general bios failure from gigabyte? ( most likely)
i tried both Bios versions; f2 and f3i, various LLC ... .
*nothing is overclocked. default.

Can anyone pls help me and test a thing.

my FX-8350 is running with 0.880v - 1.344v VCore on Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 (rev. 4.0) in "Auto mode".
and it's set in bios in "Vcore" option as 1.368v and in bios is showing as 1.344v.

1) can u confirm my VCore values too?
2) what if u change your Dynamic VCore value ? (for example 0.06v). do u get problem after 3-2 restarts too and must CMOS clear?

guys i need your confirmations. be friendly and report pls;) then i can found out, which component is defective. MB or CPU, then i do one of them RMA :/

Thx

If this started happening after you purchased RAM then that is probably defective. You could run memtest to make sure. I recommend leaving everything at auto in BIOS/UEFI. Boot and see if there's still any issues. As far as your CPU is concerned, it can power 4x4. If it can't the RAM is most likely faulty.

Second post...
Vcore is fine, everything is fine as long you don't mess with something you don't understand. I can't stress this enough, if you're trying to troubleshoot, the last thing you want to do is increase voltage or mess with BIOS.

This is a fairly old post but I thought I'd chime in just in case you're still having the problem or someone else comes across this post looking for a solution. I only had to manually set the voltage for the memory to get it to run at the correct speed. I'm running an 8320 with 4 sticks of ram and if you look closely you'll notice that it defaults the memory voltage to 1.5v @1333 so you'll need to manually set it to at lease 1.65v and it will actually stay at 1600.
