1| Have you made sure your BIOS is up to date?
2| I looked high and low on your product's specification's page, I couldn't find any information about support for ECC rams but I found this:

* Due to Windows 32-bit operating system limitation, when more than 4 GB of physical memory is installed, the actual memory size displayed will be less than 4 GB.
