[SOLVED] Gigabyte GA-B85-HD3 - Is it good for gaming?

The question of above. And would it fit or do any bad with an i5-4430 and a Radeon HD 7870?

Both your CPU and GPU will fit in that board. It is good for gaming, but be aware that B85 is an older chipset, so it won't perform as good as a new Z87 or something like that.

In which way does that matter? I mean, what do I lose if I've an older chipset? Speed, Perfomance, Random Shutdowns...?

You will lose some performance features, such as additional SATA ports, PCI slots, and other software features.

It is not a problem when gaming, unless it limits your number of graphics cards. Software features would be fan control, BIOS, etc.

For your specs that mobo will be just fine.
It's a solid board,i've built a rig for a friend on it using an i5-4570/7870.
Has the latest PCI Express 3.0 x16 gpu slot.
Be aware that the maximum ram speed supported on this mobo is 1600mhz.
Which isn't a problem.
