You mean it freezes at the POST screen (like the graphic for the UEFI before it goes to Windows splash?) As far as the beeping when you remove the memory, just because a motherboard beeps doesn't mean it's okay. It could be another problem. What it is, is a mystery. You could call Gigabyte and see if they could help. Try changing the CMOS battery too if it's getting old (over 2 years old). It's the silver button-shaped thing on the board. I've has instances where a POST hang was caused by a dead CMOS battery.
