So I did my first build last month with a GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD4P motherboard...since I've been running it I notice that the LAN has been "cutting out" after 30 mins or so, usually when downloading or uploading.

My ISP is Comcast, but I've never encountered this problem on my old system. To refresh the connection I have to turn the router on and off, will an Ethernet card fix this? Or is it something with the ISP

I recall seeing users reporting issues with that mobo with the onboard LAN, but it's hard to diagnose because this is the only computer on my network

if you are turning the router on/off to fix, it's probably not the ethernet port.

You could run a constant ping to the router and wait for it to cut out - if the packets are lost then its the port if not then your looking at a router or ISP issue. Running another constant ping to a site, say google.com at the same time will help show if its the WAN or LAN thats dropping.
