I have a stripped linux distribution running on a Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-H motherboard. The system itself boots in about 8 seconds after the BIOS. However the system hangs in the BIOS (American Megatrends low-res screen) for about 10 seconds. I am booting off of an SSD with a UEFI installation. I have disabled legacy support as well as all motherboard devices I don't need.

I have an NVIDIA GeForce 750Ti graphics card installed. The system itself has 8GB of RAM and one USB serial device attached.

This is running the latest BIOS firmware (FC). Is there any way to further cut the time down? I notice when the system powers on that the CPU fan spins up and slows back down briefly before spinning back up to full speed. This has been the same behavior on two identical Gigabyte motherboards with everything detached (GFX, USB, network, etc).

Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated!
