GIGABYTE GA-G31M-S2L Cannot Get to Power On

Hello All

I have a computer that i made a few years back and the past year or so i have been having power issues. Most recently the problem has gotten worse. The issue I am having is sometimes the computer turns off and is unresponsive to everything. Usually it happens when the computer sleeps so i think it is some sort of windows or bios problem

Things i have tried Holding Power button down for 5 seconds then trying to power on again.
Unplugging the computer and leaving it for a few hours then trying.
Removing the CMOS Battery.


I dont think the power supply is bad. The USB still gets power but nothing else works

Any help of suggestions would be appreciated. The specs of the computer are below:

Usually it happens when the computer sleeps

That maybe caused by the RAM. Run the MemTest86 to test the ram one by one. http://www.memtest86.com/download.htm

Also do you oc the cpu? If you did, try reset it to the base frequency 2.53ghz.

Thanks for the reply if I can get the computer on again I will try that. Any suggestions for getting it to turn on

Like before you did, removing the battery, then try to boot with only one stick RAM. If you can't boot, check the MB components, like the capacitors to see there is any leaking something like that.
